1ST  WINTABLIZARD HAPPY HOUR. Super 7 mths puppy of excellent make and shape. Balanced and strongly boned, feet could be tighter. Handsome head with a lovely dark eye and expression, strong and moderately arched neck. In excellent coat. Tidy mover who carries his tail perfectly. BOB & BPIB

1st  LUX CH WINTABLIZARD COWABUNGA. Has a gently sloping topline and broad hindquarters. Plenty of bone and compact feet but down in pasterns. Broad and powerful head with almond shaped eyes, a soft expression and small triangular shaped ears. Moved O.K. RBOB.

1st  LEVISBROOKS DAMON SALVADOR. Brindle puppy who is just slightly longer than the required square shape at present. Having said that he presents a clean outline, has straight well boned forelegs and good forechest. Long sloping shoulders and an excellent finish to his croup. His head has a deep stop and an excellent underjaw, ears are set wide and thin. His eyes are a touch wide set and quite loose at the moment. Moved very well. RBOB & BPIB.

2nd GALICAR INCOMMUNICADO WITH ASTRALUNE. Dainty bitch, short coupled with a deep chest. Moved well.

1st  ROBINSTECK A STAR IS BORN. Brindle bitch , clean topline, moderate angles and has enough forechest and good depth of brisket. Well boned forearms, straight pasterns, small cat like feet. Clean skull only showing wrinkle when alert. Dark eyes with lively expression. Strong and powerful mover. BOB.

2nd  MARKINSHELL POMBEAR AT DAJOXX. In outstanding condition and very well muscled all through. Square outline, plenty of bone and substance, strong clean cut neck, touch high on shoulder, well developed quarters. Doesn’t have the head of the winner.

1st  GERTLUSH NIMUEH FOR RAINWILDS. Powerfully and symmetrically built fawn bitch who, for me, doesn’t have a typical head but she has an excellent body with wide and deep forequarters, plenty of forechest and stands on strongly boned legs and well arched feet. Although I found her head over wrinkled she was so sound on the move that she had to win the class. RBOB.

2nd  NEHRANI PRECIOUS INDIA. She has a better head than the winner, excellent substance and great body condition but could use more rear. Erratic on the move. BPIB.

1st WHITBULL SEE THE STARS. Substantial bitch with a very good head and eye and moderate wrinkle. Well boned, big ribs but is a bit straight behind and stands bum high. In very good condition and a tidy mover if a bit lazy.

2nd NEHRANI BOLLYWOOD KNIGHT. A raw and leggy brindle dog with a super temperament. Very well off for bone, level back, large head, just needs time. Nice dog.

1st  GERTLUSH POLISHED EBONY . A very well constructed 2 years old brindle bitch but could have a longer and better return of upper arm bit the rest of her is super. Fabulous square head with broad underjaw and a lovely, kind expression. Moves powerfully and with purpose. BOB.

2nd  NEHRANI RED REEFE. 23 months old dog with an excellent head but longer foreface. A bit straight behind but has wonderful bone and cat like feet. In excellent condition, just needs time and to move with more verve.

1st  TUWOS NOTORIOUS (IKC). Super 10 months dog who presents a clean and elegant outline but is a touch longer than square right now. He is well off for bone and has a wonderful head with slight stop, a very good bite and dark almond shaped eyes. Paced to start with but when settled he moved with plenty of reach and drive. Liked him a lot. BPIB. 

2nd  ARITAUR DARING AT DOBIEDAR. Lovely 7 mths bitch who looks slightly long and low at present but her outline is clean and elegant and she is well boned. Clean head and fairly long dry neck. Just needs to come up on her legs.

1st  PROTOCOL’S THE MIDAS TOUCH (IMP USA). Absolutely cracking 14 months dog. He is possibly on the heavier side but I could find nothing to fault. He is so elegant in outline with a terrific wedge shaped head, moderate stop and dark expressive eyes. I thought him outstanding and I’m sure that we will hear more of him. BOB, Group 1 and Best in Show.

2nd LATEAGAIN STARSTRUCK. Brown/rust dog who presents a clean and refined outline at only 6 months old. Carries a perfect topline, great forechest, excellent bone and is well conditioned. Super head but didn’t like the floor.

1st  LATEAGAIN ZENYATTA FOR INVERTEIGN. Elegant bitch who is clean in outline. Well boned, has enough front, short coupled but falls away on croup, excellent quarters. Wedge shaped head with dark eye. In great condition, has an impressive side gait but was a touch wide going away on the floor. RBOB.

2nd  WINTABLIZARD RUNNIN DEEP. Very similar to the winner but doesn’t have such a clean outline nor the movement of the winner.

2nd  CWNHAPUS INNOKO JW ShCEx OSW. Of excellent type and well made. Doesn’t have the front or confidence of the winner. Really good coat and moves very well.

2ND CHRISHAMA ICE DIAMND FOR AMENBURY. Very good ears, bone and feet, well ribbed up, plenty of forechest. Good head with dark eyes.

1st CHRISHAMA MAGIC APPRENTICE FR AMENBURY 3 year old b/w who had the best construction in the class. Nice head, large mobile ears. Well developed quarters, moved well behind but a little lazy. BOB.

2nd WILDCARD SPOT CHECK FOR HORCRUX. . B/w merle with a very good front but stands a bit cow hocked. Well off for bone and good feet. Coat wavy and carries a high tail. Very good side gait.

BEST IN SHOW was the Dobermann PROTOCOL’S THE MIDAS TOUCH (IMP USA).

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW was the GSD CHALKSVILLE MADE OF MAGIC FOR BRIGHTMEADOW. Such a sound dog with terrific movement. Super angles and topline. Am sure he will title on no time.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was the Mini Long Dachshund MINARD DARQYE RED FOR DEVONDAX. Quality puppy with an excellent head and eye. Great angulation, level topline, deep & long ribs, nicely balanced all through. In fabulous condition. Great little mover.

RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was the French Bulldog BINCOMBEFARM MORSMORDRE. Excellent front, topline and quarters. Lovely expression, very good nostrils and underjaw. Bat ears high set. Cobby and muscular, sound and free moving.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW was the Dandie Dinmont CH/INT/MULTI CH BACK TO MY ROOTS AT LUNA CAPRESE WITH TORBRAE (Imp Deu). What a super veteran who came close for BIS. Fabulous type, loved his head, eye and expression. Wearing an excellent jacket. A quality dog all through and a credit to his owner. 

RESERVE BEST VETERAN IN SHOW was the Golden Retriever CHALKSVILLE BARREGARROW AT JANDEBURN JW ShCM. Lovely temperament on this very sound and quality dog. Well made and presents a typical outline. Has a wonderful head and expression and presented in very good coat.

BEST RESERVE BEST OF BREED IN SHOW was the Pointer TEISGOL LOVE IS IN THE AIR. A typy pointer with good make and shape. Tight skin, neat tail and fine ears. Moved the best here.

2nd Rice’s Ricoz All About Love JW. Lovely firl of similar quality and make up. Preferred head of 1, and he just put that little extra into the movement, however this girl moved very sound, keeping typical outline on the move. RBOB.

The veteran class was so well supported, and full of excellent quality from across the group, for me each and everyone of them represented their respective breeds well, and deserve praise.

1st Mapes’ Agdenusher Mulberry. 2 year old strong male, excellent head and dentition, strong neck to well laid shoulders, moved with excellent front extension. RBOB.

2nd Atkins’ No More Cloudy days. 2 year old bitch, excellent in head and dentition, and lovely in profile, just not as confident on the move as 1.

1st Fenn & Foster’s Chalksville As If By Magic Over Jandeburn. Stunning male GSD, the most stunning and balanced movement, that just had to be rewarded. Strongest of heads, and dentition, balanced and sound throughout.

2nd French’s Norvanik Goldsmith At Bincombefarm. Stunning Pom, very balanced throughout and moved sound.

Coat has correct texture.  2nd Dean’s Delbrupar The Category Is Avec Snowpups 2 ½ yr male Res BOB Handsome male, strong bone, would not want him any taller. Dark, eyes, haloes and black pads. Masculine head, not coarse. Arched neck. Coat of correct texture.

Needs more front angulation, this shortened the neck. Chest down to elbows. Level back, correctly set tail, carried up on the move. Front movement needs to firm up. Ruby colouring golden red, with feathering starting.

Almost flat skull, Lozenge mark on skull, large dark eyes. Scissor bite. Body well developed, level topline, tail correctly set and carried out in movement. Good feathering for age. Blenheim with rich chestnut markings.  2nd Hawkins Lexody’s Incantation 7mth female, very much a baby puppy, not sure about standing, she preferred to sit. Head still developing as is her body. Movement needs to tighten up. Excellent coat for age. Blenheim with rich chestnut markings.      

Post Graduate (5:1) 1st Lewis’s Carleeto Cutie Pie JW 1 ½ yr male graceful outline, skull flat, black nose, large dark eyes, ears good length with feathering, scissor bite. Chest developing well for age. Topline firm, muscled loin. Tail correctly set, carried a bit above the topline. Super rich red Ruby colouring, free moving. Standing tends to tuck her hindquarters in. Tail carried above topline. 2nd Hawkin’s Lexody’s Pandemonium JW 20mth male Flat skull, round dark eyes, mouth could be better. Front legs should be straighter. Level topline, correct tail set and carriage.  

Limit (2:1) 1st Franks Cathmead Evelyn 20mth male. Not at all happy in the ring, this impaired his movement. Blue spot in one eye. Good development of lips, scissor bite. Pasterns need to be firmer. Balanced front and hind angulation, tail set below topline and not carried up. Coat with feathering, Blenheim rich chestnut colouring on a pure white background.  

Open (4:1) 1st Lewis’s Carleeto Minnie The Minx JW 2yr female BOB, Group 1st Pleasing to go over this female again and she did not disappoint. Correct head and body proportions. Stands 4 square. Dark eyes with sweet expression, scissor bite. Balanced front & hind angulation, level topline standing & on the move, good depth of chest, tail correctly set & carried below level of topline. Movement true coming & going with reach & drive. Black & Tan colouring with dense coat of correct texture. Happy and outgoing.  2nd Franks Cathmead Love Potion No Nine 2 ½ yr female Good shaped head, Dark, large eyes, black pigmentation. Scissor bite. Balanced angulation, level topline, tail correctly set and carried out level on the move. Movement true coming & going. Correct tri-colouring, better coat and movement than those below her. Friendly.

Junior (3:1) 1st Skivington’s Chantaydan Laten Roulette At Gustafski 7mth female Cream Coloured, a pleasing youngster developing well for age, better movement than number 2. Apple dome head, short muzzle, large round dark eyes, large ears at correct angle, coat still has to grow. Brisk movement.  2nd Skinner’s Mujerosa Lucky For Me 11mth male quite mature for age, correct head proportions, would prefer more front angulation and this shows in movement. Excellent coat for age, tail up on the move. Front movement loose.  

Post Graduate (5:1) 1st Skinner’s Mujerosa Hats Off To You 11mth male BOB & Best Puppy, Puppy Group 1 Full of attitude as this breed should be, took my eye as he came into the ring. Correct head and body proportions, balanced front and hind angulation. Level topline, best mover in class. Tail carried up and over back. Coat well developed for age.  2nd Taylor’s Chantaydan Déjà Vu 7mth female. Another one with attitude, Apple dome head, dark eyes and nose, correct set of ears, carried erect. Good spring of ribs, could have a shorter loin. Coat developing well for age.  

Open (3:1) 1st Mcinally’s Chantaydan Show Stopper 18mth male Res BOB Good body shape, Apple dome head, balanced front and hind angulation, level topline, tight feet. Tail carried high curled over back. Moves true, in good coat.  2nd Skinner’s Tyssul Awel Y Mynydd 5yr male Another with good shape of body, head of correct shape and in proportion with body. Elbows should be tighter and this shows in movement. Tail carried up, tightly curled touching back. In excellent coat.

Head is Apple Domed, with wide set ears, dark pigmentation. Moves true coming and going. Smooth coat.  2nd Whitton’s Chinatown Mystic Moon 10mth female. This youngster lacks confidence, it affects her movement and stance, Head of good proportions, Level topline, tail not raised when moving, smooth coat soft texture.  Open Dog (3:1) 1st Morris’s Mikichi Mr Moonlight 4yr male BOB Correct head and body proportions, correct apple domed head, wide set ears, level topline. Tail carried up and over back. Moves a little close in front. Smooth coat, with soft texture.  2nd Poyner’s Anadeia Ovation for Mikichi JW 20mth male Res BOB Correct head and body proportions, would like more front angulation, and this shows with high stepping. Level topline, a little longer in body than 1st in class. Excellent coat with soft texture.  

Open Bitch (3:0) 1st Whitton’s Chinatown Moondance 10mth female New to showing, friendly and outgoing. Head developing well for age, apple dome, wide set ears. Level topline, best movement in class, tail carried up and wagging all the time.  2nd Brackstone’s Tinamyrose Tinas Gem Avec Picklesberry 7yr female A heavier set female of good proportions, balanced front and hind angulation. Has very long nails, making feet splay. Tail carried up on the move in curve over her back. Movement close coming & going.

(1:0)  1st Skivington & Routledge’s Pufflepaws Phools Paradise 11mth male Best Puppy, Res BOB Developing well for age, top of height, deer type. Playful with happy attitude, large well feathered ears, dark almond shaped eyes. Straight front legs, would like more front angulation and this shows in movement, good bend of stifle. Skin needs to be smoother. 

Open (1:0)  1st Skivington’s Ajatiaza’s Crystal Sparks 2 ½ yr female BOB Feminine, balanced front and hind angulation, head slightly rounded, slight stop, dark eyes and nose. Ears set wide apart with good feathering. Mouth acceptable. Body medium to long, tail could be set higher, carried up on the move. Movement with reach and drive. Skin could be smoother, carrying a lot of hair on shoulders.

Fine bone, topline curving to low set tail. Hind movement a little wide and front feet quite high stepping. Correct colouring, coat glossy.  

Limit (5:2) 1st Dicker’s Moretonia Golden Girl At Neerodan JW 9mth female BOB A pleasing youngster who was the best mover in the breed. Long narrow head, dark almost black almond shaped. Ears high set not too close together, erect. Fine bone with dainty feet. Curving topline with low set tail. Rich colouring with penciling, glossy coat. 2nd Johnson’s Moretonia Royal Wren 2yr female Long narrow head, dark almond shaped eyes, wide set candle flame shape. Fine bone, stands a little east/west. Curving topline with low set tail, good turn of stifle. Moves wide behind. Has penciling on feet. Glossy coat.  

Open (3:1) 1st Warren’s Pedara The World Is Mine 5yr male Fine petit dog, long narrow head, dark almond shaped eyes. Wide set candle flame shape. Good length of neck. Straight front, fine bone, penciling on feet. Curve over topline. Low set tail not long. Movement loose front and back. Black and rich tan colouring.  2nd Dicker’s Neerodan Made to Make It 6yr female. Mature girl, larger in size. Ears should be stronger. Fine bones, slight rise over loin, low set tail, hocks quite long. Front movement needs to be firmer. Good shine to coat.

Masculine head with dark oval eye, small well-placed ears, good arch of neck into neat shoulders, good front and depth of chest, level topline, which he keeps on the more, good tail set, carried up curved slightly over the back. Good turn of stifle, neat feet. Hackney action. Black & Tan colouring.  2nd Stephens Hawksflight American Idol For Brightmeadow 7mth male Best Puppy, Res BOB A pleasing youngster, developing well for age, even at this age hackney action seen. Happy to be in the ring.

Light movement.  2nd Olof’s Tarnock Pop The Bubbles 1yr female. Youngster full of attitude. Head in proportion to body, symmetrical head markings, ears set wider than 45 degrees, well fringed. Level topline, tail carried up and over the back. Movement needs to settle. In excellent coat for age, with good fringing.   

Limit (4:1)  1st Olof’s Tarnock All Eyes On Me 1yr male BOB Very good proportions symmetrical head markings, attentive. Skull slightly rounded, muzzle finer.  Dark rounded eyes, correct set of ears, fully erect with fringing. Visible forechest, straight legs, pasterns could be stronger. Level topline correct set of tail carried up on the move. True coming and going, in good condition.  2nd Casey’s Melangel Lovely Lexi For Shamal 2 ½ yr female. A little finer than 1 in class and out of coat at the moment. Uses her ears well, correctly set, with symmetrical head markings. Elbows pin in and this affects movement. Tail carried up over back.  

Open (2:1) 1st Olof’s Tarnock Devore 8yrs female Res BOB Has good proportions, in good coat with excellent fringing, black head with a little white around her muzzle, dark round eyes, correct set of ears. Forechest visible, fine bone, pasterns could be stronger, hare feet with tufts of hair, level topline, tail carried up over her back. Movement light.

Brisk movement, in excellent double coat for age, top coat harsher than undercoat. 2nd Lovell’s Pawsamy’s Rose JW 19mths female A pleasing sable girl, could be a little shorter in body. Dark oval eyes, black nose, small erect ears, has tendency to stand east/west. Level topline, very high set tail carried flat against his back in a fan. Feminine but still strong, round head, dark eyes, button ears, correct bite. Level topline with trace visible Tight curled tail caried over hips, good turn of stifle. Movement loose. Smooth soft coat.  

Open (4:0) 1st Reid’s Bubbapug Queen Of Puddings JW 3 ½ yr female BOB Best proportions and movement in class. Large but feminine head, dark round eyes, button ears, black mask. Balanced front and hind angulation, good spring of ribs, level topline, tight tail in double curl over hips. Brisk movement.  2nd Kelsall’s Flaikwell Damson Jam 3 ½ yr female. Pleasing proportions and stands 4 square. Clear eyes, button ears, nails need cutting, would like stronger pasterns. Level topline, high set tail curled over hips, smooth coat.

Skull broad skull, moderate stop, black nose. Straight legs, hare foot well covered with coat. Top line rises at loin, well sprung ribs. Moves true coming and going. Brisk movement, long coated with good feathering on tail.  2nd Russian Toy Lovell & Britton’s Russiadream Frodo Strudel 18mth male Res BOB. Square build, head quite small, good length of leg. Ears wider set than 1st, not as confident in the ring and this affects stance and movement. Good body proportions, fine boned, tail carried out on the move. It was my very great pleasure to be invited to judge breeds, Pastoral Group and Stakes for Bridgwater & District CA, pleasant drive down, 171 miles, but dreadful by return as judging was still going on as I left at 7.30 so long haul home in the dark. No matter, luck of the draw, I had a splendid day which, when I eventually got in the ring at 1.30, I was rewarded by being given two excellent stewards in Sylvia Caldicot and Brian Kirk whose expert help made my job far easier.

  Easy parking, decent sized rings, pleasant atmosphere, good sportsmanship, what more could you ask for?

  BRIARDS – L (1) 1 Jacobs-Pearce’s Arundall Mithra, beautifully presented homebred 5yo fawn dog of most attractive shape, very pleasing head to handle, clean, balanced, love eye, intelligent expression, strong legs, excellent rear, well muscled thighs, good hocks enabling strong drive from rear, very sound and true on the move, lovely temperament, refined in attitude. O (2) 1 Jacobs-Pearce’s Salieri Heaven Knows at Atundall ShCM, 8yo black, mother of limit winner, can see where he got his shape from and ring presence, at eight, no sign of coarseness except in coat which gave rugged appearance, beautifully presented making her look quite outstanding, very clean head, good skull and muzzle, pleasing eye, exquisite expression, good neck into good shoulder, good front,body well toned, good spring of rib, good topline, strongly muscled thighs, great animation on move, excellent attitude and temperament, thought her quite stunning. My first time judging this breed and have to say they were the highlight of my day, a quality entry throughout, fabulous temperaments and well presented.

1 Masters & Dott’s Manchela Pollyanna Lovely type and proportions. Feminine head with correct eye and ear set giving typical kind expression. Well angulated fore and aft and standing true from all angles. Excellent topline and correctly set tail. Very sound out and back with excellent ground coverage in profile. BP & Puppy Group 4

2 Smalls’ Albertea Minerva All of the above comments also apply to this girl and was truly splitting hairs in the class. Just found 1 to be that little bit more mature in body and coat today. Super puppies.

1 Salmon’s Crimicar Indigo Eclipse Loved this dog from the moment I put my hands on him. Super condition and excellent coat. So well balanced all though, sound from all angles. Masculine head with typical expression and correctly set ear. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulder with corresponding return of upperarm. Good bone and feet. Chest of good depth with well sprung rib. Well angulated rear with strong hocks. Floated round the ring. Pleased to award him BOB and Group 1.

Presented in excellent flat laying coat and for such a young baby didn’t put a foot wrong.  Head is developing nicely, correct dentition. Strong topline and excellent feet. 2 Harding’s Kingsmist The Black Knight Black dog with strong masculine head, good length of muzzle. Excellent shape on the stack with good front, well developed forechest and elbows well underneath him. Correct length of body, good topline and well angulated rear. Moved true out and back but not the drive of 1 today.

2 Jefferies’ Silbermeer Annie Get Ya Gun. Feminine head with good eye, long muzzle, would prefer more stop. Well angulated with good topline. Correct depth of chest with good tuck-up. Moderate bone and good pastern but overall picture spoilt by nails being too long.

Good head with correct muzzle and ear, prefer more pigment to eye. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, good bone and pasterns, true front. Well sprung rib, correct topline and tailset. Moved with good reach and drive in profile. 

2 Martin & Green’s Rhoswendale Game Is On For Viszaset Irish Red & White Setter Could have taken him home, for a 7 month old puppy he never put a foot wrong. Beautiful shape on the stack, balanced with good angles throughout. Masculine head developing nicely, kind expression. Good topline, correctly set tail and sound rear. Moved with good reach and drive just needs to tighten up coming towards which is to be expected in a large breed at this age. BP and Puppy Group 2

To look at her standing she typy and moderate but comes alive on the move with effortless reach and drive and so true on the out and back. Excellent head, good reach of neck and well made front assembly. Good depth of chest with well spring rib, short loin and well angulated rear. Presented in excellent coat of good texture.
